Willow's Ball !

AS YOU CAN SEE, I'M HAVING A HECK OF A TIME TEARING MYSELF AWAY FROM MY DASHING BEAU, COUNT RUPRECHT von BRAUNSHWEIGER. AS A MATTER OF FACT WE INTEND TO ANNOUNCE OUR ENGAGEMENT AT YOUR SPLENDID BALL, WILLOW! You can catch a glimpse of the beautiful gown that Hubert ran up for me just this morning. A little off -the- shoulder number, pale blue to match Ruprecht's eyes. And heaps of flowers as our usual backdrop. But trust me..we'll be at the party in a New York minute!

We are so pleased to announce that the Count's mother will be among the guests we will be bringing to the ball. As you know, we(am I jumping the gun?) royals always travel with an entourage. I so adore Lady Danvers, she has a wicked sense of humor which I'm sure will tickle your fancy!
x
x
CHAMPAGNE FOR ALL! I've got armloads of the bubbly stacked up in the limo... Silly Ruprecht just loves to sip champagne from my Jimmy Choo's..sometimes he can't tell that I'm wearing sandals!

Another fun guest coming along will be Ruprecht's twin brother, Count Valmont von Braunshweiger, seen here relaxing. Sometimes they try to fool me, but I can tell the difference..Count Val always wears silk stockings! He is a bit of a roue', might just sweep you off your feet..don't say I didn't warn you!!
x
My side of the family. We are so close, with great affection for each other! Whenever I turn around, there they are! They are the traveling Ballet Russe de Smirnoff and will joyfully entertain you and your guests with a condensed version of Swan Lake. What a treat! Donations accepted.

WILLOW! TO A GREAT HOSTESS!! I toast you and thank you for the splendid Ball you are giving.. you are indeed to the Manor born! What a swell party it is!!

Lady Danvers! Eeek, get the hoses ready, Willow!

You must have been there; we have the same champers bottle popping!

Lyn said...

Hi Alaine-
I thought that was you at the bubbly bargain bin!!
Now, my future mother- in-
law has turned over a new leaf!!Hope you bump into her!

Lyn dearest, or ought I to call you Excellentissima or something? How romantic you and Ruprecht look, surrounded by so many blooms. And the dress brings out the blue of your eyes so!

Being able to travel with your own family troupe must make life so entertaining, for everyone!

But was it you I saw, eagerly reaching for some 'truffle swinging from the chandelier'??!! I'm glad Ruprecht was otherwise enaged on the dancefloor. Royalty must maintain a sense of decorum you know!

BTW, Miss Piggy was rather jealous and wants to know how you managed to grab yourself such a rich ... sorry, such a dish?!

Lyn said...

Hi Derrick-
What a thrill it all is..and especially you and Miss Piggy..
How did I snag such a catch..it's important to have similar interests..he likes to make money..I like to spend it! And of course the warmth and generousity of our families..

How romantic, announcing your engagement at the Ball!

Can I have another sip of that champagne?

I am getting a tad thirsty and I dropped by for a drop by for a bit of bubbly. Do you have some? I am having such fun at this ball. Tell me that was not you on the chandelier? I would like to learn your technique. =D
Come by "Linda # 53" if you'd like a dance with the Prince. Thanks for the drink.

BRAUNSHWEIGER! Sounds delicious, don't tear yourself away on our account.

I am sending over a few Geisha to assist with the entertainment, but will be arriving fashionably late myself.

Betsy Brock said...

Mrs Danvers? Darling, don't let her pick your dress! LOL!

Lyn said...

Hi Barry-
So lovely to meet you..and do save a dance for me!
Champagne for everyone!!

Lyn said...

Hi Linda-
My secret? Just look needy and depend on the kindness of strangers!
That was me standing under the chandelier, waiting for something to drop!

Lyn said...

Hi Butternut-
Yes, there is something about a Braunshweiger!!
Will keep my eye peeled for you..now don't be too late..and how clever to add the Geisha touch..my, my!!

Tell that Danvers woman to keep her distance, Lyn! She gives me the willies.
Perhaps a bottle of bubbly will ease my nerves.
I thought the name Von Braunschweiger rang a bell. I do think the twin is a bit severe for my tastes. I prefer the count's incarnation for Milos; he was far more pleasant in demeanor even if he was such a cad!
Shall I see you there? Look for me in the corner. I'll be the one on the divan with the tidy gent mixing up martinis for her.

Lyn said...

Hi Betsy-
Yes, unfortunately Lady Danvers has to deal with her wicked twin's behavior..twins seem to run in their family..but she is a real doll!!

So exciting for you to announce your engagement at the Ball of the Year!!

Lyn said...

Hi Kat-
I'm the one behind the potted palm, madly waving at you!! Hi, hi!!!
Charming cads, what can one do? Was it ever thus?

Lyn said...

Hi Jane-
Yes, life is so full of wonderful opportunities! Who would have thought that little moi would grow up to become Lady Lyn?? What a world!

Your intended is splendid
it's just his relative who give me the chills
are you certain what you are getting in to, my dear?

Tess Kincaid said...

Congratulations! I've instructed Mr. Terfel to announce a toast to you and the Count, later on this evening. You look sensational in the pale blue, daaaling!!

I'm glad to get to know Mrs. Danvers, since I've always been a tad frightened of her. She really is quite charming!

Lyn said...

Hi Elizabeth(I believe!)-
Thanks for visiting..
Ah, relatives...I'm just a NY street kid, so all I can say is, bring 'em on!!
Let's go kick up our heels!

Lyn said...

There you go, Willow, if anyone can charm Danvers, surely it's you..I believe you could even straighten out the world!!
I toast you!! And accept your gracious toast to our engagement! Good thing Ruprecht didn't see you first..
A Ball is a good thing!!

Nancy said...

Congratulations on your engagement! It was clear by the blush to your cheeks during the announcement, that you are totally head over heels in love! Or was it that bottle of champagne you had on the way over? Nevermind! You looked stunning!

Sandra Leigh said...

Ah, love in bloom. What a perfect way to celebrate your engagement - dancing to the glorious music of Herr Mozart. Will Bryn be singing a special song for you?

Lyn said...

Hi Yoli-
So many new friends at the Ball..aren't we lucky? And thank you for your kindness!!

Lyn said...

Hi Nancy-
Thank you..head over heels..again(Don't tell)! But this time it's for keeps!
Champagne does have its place though..generally at my lips!! Have a sip?

Lyn said...

Hi Sandra-

Thanks for you good wishes..I am starry eyed..

So lovely to have met you this evening at the ball.
I do hope I remember your New York stories when I awake.
Next year I promise not to overly indulge in the Champagne so that we might have more time to get to exchange stories of great adventures.
Cheers to next year!
