A Question.

x WHAT SAVES YOU? I found this question
floating above me this morning. I paused,
and asked a cliche', "are you talking to me"?
x
When I've fallen down the well, and no one
heeds my call, what saves me, rewards me,
is nature itself. I remind myself that I'm
allowed to be here on earth. I start climbing,
and wrap myself in fanciful notions. I let
myself be kissed by the Sun and the Moon.
I become softer, an accessible soul.
x
So what if it's my imagination, I thank whatever
placed this fantasy of life within my heart. I seek
and want to receive great beauty. It's always
there : Hello, Monet, hello, Manet, hello Mozart.
Ah, the three "M's". I know that Cezanne's the
father of them all. Greetings to him, how lucky
can I be? Please save me, Vermeer, and Rembrandt
too. A shelf of books are tumbling down..at my
feet, Hardy, Eco, Zola...Billy Collins, yes.
x
And unreeling, films, if remade, would star little me.
x
I used to move very aggressively within my tender
feelings. Now I move more slowly, like a fish
swimming backwards. That saves me, but
mostly lets me have mercy for others placed on
my path.
x
I seek further studies. I look for what points me
to an entry to heaven. I like to think that if I
bless someone, they receive it, and return it.
x
What saves you? I'd love to know. It could be
something as simple as strawberries. Why not?

Hi Lyn,

Grace has to be on the inside before we can appreciate the beauty of the things that surround us, don't you think? I like that your new, gentle path saves both you and us. We need it!

Hi Derrick-
Thank you for your kind and wise words! Grace it is...

what a rich post Lyn - I loved this - what saves me - painting and more painting and then sitting and listening to the end of the day outside....

Hi Jeane-
How lucky you are to be saved by art! And listening..sort of the key, also!!
Thank you so much..

What saves me is knowing that the gift of life is more precious, more beautiful, and much more powerful than the violence within it. What saves me is knowing its my two hands that make the difference..
What saves me is my love of humaness, despite our failings.

Maybe I make sense, maybe I don't, but this the answer your question inspired in me.

Hi "Wings"-
Oh, you make perfect sense! What shows through, is the caring.
Thank you!

This morning it was walking down the driveway. The birds were singing, donkeys braying, horses chasing each other about. The raindrops still clung to the wires on the fence and the morning sun caste light on the steam rising from the wet fur on the animal's backs. It was a glorious new day.

This is one of my favorite posts of yours. The beginning snatched my attention with the question floating above you and the "who, me?"

Sometimes I get that...I wish I'd take the time to pay attention and answer. Too often I wave it away and continue putting away dishes and thinking about making dinner. It makes me cringe to say that.

I'm going to give that question some thought. Maybe blog on it tomorrow.

Thank you!

Hi Butternut..
This is a morning I'd love to experience..what's good is that we can tell each other about it! Thanks...

Now that's a deep question, Lyn! What saves me? My neck??

I like Derrick's comment.

And I find my fanciful whimsical humour helpful!

Hi Starlene-
Thank you..I'd love for you to do a blog on this!
Believe me, if I didn't act quickly when I get an idea, I'd totally forget it!

Hi Raph-
Humor's at the top of the list, without a doubt! Can count on you!!

I am a bit like like Butternut, it is noticing the wonder and beauty of nature.
Something that always saves me, is to get to the belief that I can handle whatever comes before me. Sometimes it takes a while to get to this place, but when I do, all is okay.

That's what it's really all about, isn't it? That's what saves us.

Hi Natalie-
I believe you're right..you have the faith and strength that will always get you to the place where you can work it out..It's funny what you learn about a person through blogging!!

Oh yes, nature! If nothing else, then nature. Strawberries? Yes! and blueberries, raspberries! And yes, your blessings are certainly a grace for me too.

Hi Willow-
Blessings and kindness..what a world that would be!

Deedee-
Yes, nature turns my head too! And pass the berries, please..Yum!

I loved this post mainly because of the impressionistic undertones in it. Many thanks, I'm a fan. What saves me is pretty much the same it saves you: art.

Greetings from London.
