Pasta

RIGHT INTO
THE POT,
X
PASTA
MEETS IT'S
DESTINY.
X
I need this rescue tonight. Nothing else will do.
x
x
As the very salted water roils, the strands, just a
second ago straight as straws, start to fold into a
fated al dente perfection.
x
I am going to gently heat the Virgin Olive Oil, and stir
in a few cloves of garlic, smashed with a cleaver
against the marble board. I love softened garlic,
not fried to a crisp, so I baby it till it's done.
x
A few flakes of red pepper scattered atop the mix,
float like a school of very tiny goldfish.
Then the pasta is finished and poured into the colander.
x
Hurrying, I'll then toss it into the oil mix, heat for a sec,
grab the blue ironstone bowl, drop in the pasta, and
every lick of oil. Black pepper, ground again and again,
dots the entirety. Last, I'll use the grater to shave a
small handful of Parmegiano Reggiano.
x
Stir. Breathe in. Eat.

I can taste it! I live for pasta. Honest, I do. I received two wonderful gifts for Christmas from my sister-in-law: A Red Garlic mixture - ready to sprinkle from the bottle and an Arrabiata spice preparation. I think I've used both every day since I got them.

I hope you enjoy your delectable meal.

Kat-
Well, yummo, the deed is done!
I so envy you the Christmas gift, how original.
Thanks for visiting.

What a way to describe the process! Very poetic, yum! L. Rochelle, do you cook often?

Clay-
I love my tiny kitchen and wedge myself in very often 'cause I do like to cook.
Poetry/food.... Thanks!

Hi Lyn,

You could have a queue around at your place!! I love pasta but must admit to not having spaghetti very often. I don't like it down my front! So, penne, fusilli, conchiglie and I'll be there!

Hi Derrick-
I've got some really cool bibs, not to worry...and penne always in the cupboard!
Thanks so much...

Thanks! This is destiny and I can just imagine it!

I'm on the queue, (i.e. if I may.):)

Ah..I miss home cooked meals--I've read this post about 3 times--I can almost taste the pasta. I have been changing my diet to include more grains anyway.

So thanks to this post, I completely changed my dinner plan and it was sooo good. Thank you!

This sounds delicious! I can almost smell the garlic.

Like Derrick, I find eating small pasta easier, but I'm naughty - if I have long spaghetti, I mash it all up on the plate so it's easier to eat!!

Raph-
Mashed spaghetti! My word...
You are missing out on the slurp factor. Tuck that bib, lift that fork, lean over the plate...slurp!!!!

But, Lyn - I've got such a long way to lean! I think you would have to make me a special really cool neck-bib.

Raph-
Well, I really put my foot in my mouth that time!
Hmm...a couple of yards should do it...
