MAGPIE/ Prompt #76

                                                       photo/ tess kincaid

REALLY INTRIGUED by Magpie Tales #76  Thanks again Tess, for the challenge.

TIN GOD

Little Tin God,
you fooled at first
with bravura whirring,
grinning enigmatically,
pretending to be
a knight in shining armor.

Your fool's gold is chipping, warped,
rusty at heart,
makeup slipping,
parts assembled from cheap tricks.

Lost in the archeology
of the five and dime.

Well...maybe he's sort of a cut-rate, bargain knight?

Seeing what lies beyond the facade. A well written depiction of this all too familiar theme of life and love.

I feel it for the Little Tin God...It's a shame when the rust sets in!

Hi Windowlad-
It's interesting what these images suggest..suddenly words come..the whole process is amazing to me..creativity, art...where does it come from..oh, maybe the source!!
Thanks, Kelvin...

Lyn, you really described the furtive and temporal nature of life in this poem. Also - how we take for granted the value of our surroundings, as so perfectly (and wryly) in the last line. Love it!

Hi Rick-
We seem to fall for the glitz so fast..in politics, love, keeping up..and then we see through it, if we're lucky. I really appreciate your input here...thank you!
