                                                 Illustration/ Clara Burd

This charming illustration is this week's prompt at Monday's Child #37, for a poem especially for children.

Thank you, Mommy
for naming me Spring,

for buds budding,
grass growing,
sparrows soaring,
baskets of blooms
brimming over,
tulips nodding
their swaying heads.

Easter bunnies
hiding rainbow eggs,
a Lamb saving us all.

And for giving me a name
that everyone will remember,
at least once a year.

Thank you Mommy,
and here
are some sunny buds,
bursting into flower,
just for you.

This was a nice take on Spring! The girl's name. It reminds me of how happy I was when my daughter was born in May, when the flowers were at their finest here in Sweden. There are girls' names in Sweden 'Maj' or 'Maja' that I guess would correspond to this girl's name 'Spring' (but they mean the month of May).
It snowed the day before yesterday! And it is still on the ground! Spring is late this year here in the north!
Best wishes,
Anna's Monday's Child # 37
