MAGPIE...Prompt #136
FLYING DOWN/ 2006/ David Salle
Thanks to Tess at Magpie Tales.
COLLAGE
My dream vibrates,
won't let me shed it.
As a rule
sunshine melts
the night's exploitation,
thoughts soon fly away
like crafty ravens,
but not those hovering
in the hours
of last night's darkness.
A gilt frame surrounds
my prevailing life.
A two way mirror allows
Freud to peek in
on the old guilt.
I'm a collage,
layers attached
but transportable,
not embarrassed
by my naked derriere.
Dreams intact.

it is good not to be embarassed by our bodies...i find that comfort admirable...smiles. cool opening stanza as well...
I suppose we are all a collage. Never thought of it that way.
Well done. Watch out for those two-way mirrors...
Hi Brian-
Thanks for your comments..good to have dreams that help when we're awake, I guess!
Hi Gail-
And as an artist, my favorite medium..thank you!
Hi Berowne-
It's just my paranoia..thanks for the warning!!
Life is a two-way mirror...I like that a lot...nicely done, Lyn...
Hi Tess-
Thanks for your comment..greatly appreciated!
Hi Lyn! ... 'I'm a collage, layers attached but transportable' ... gets right to the essence of his painting!!
Hi Helen-
Thank you so much...I had to look at the pic for a long time before I "got" it!
This makes me see myself as a sort of photoshopped image surrounded by a Guilt-Frame, i dig it.
I like this - a lot!
Anna :o]
Hi Kutamun-
I'd like to be photoshopped too..thank you..
Hi Anna
So pleased! thanks so much..
Nice meeting Freud in your dreams, especially when they are as "revealing" as this one. Fun to read. Thanks.
I love your poem, but I still do not understand the art. I am reminded of the Beatles song, "Tomorrow Never Knows." , especially the part about surrendering to the void. Always keep the dreams intact. I love your work, Lyn.
Hi PattiKen-
Glad you enjoyed it..nice hearing from you...
Hi Linda-
That's a good way to see art, to surrender to the artist's vision, which she doesn't always know the meaning of either. Thanks so much for your great comment!
Awesome take on the Mag Lyn!
I know it's been long... delighted to read you again as have been always!
hugs xoxo
Hi Olivia-
