MAGPIE...Prompt #137
IT MUST BE TIME FOR LUNCH NOW/ 1979/ Francesca Woodman
THANKS to Tess at Magpie Tales
NOT YET
Like a faux magus,
I've bent spoons for you
with my mind.
Look at me,
starved, waiting.
When called to be present
I ring with pangs of remorse.
Despair bumps and grinds me
to my knees each day,
trickles of crimson
sully the dust.
The villain of the piece,
I'm bleeding,
now wearing
your favorite color,
Scarlet A.
Not yet entitled
to meet eye to eye.

This is great. I love the third stanza.
wow...always the apprentice to the master...no matter how much you try to placate...
Nice one...I like the 4th stanza, the color of Scarlet A ~
Hi Laurie-
Thank you...that photo was really something...
Hi Brian-
Yes, I really hate when that happens! Thanks so much..
Hi Heaven-
Thank you, I enjoyed that image too! So glad to be in touch with Heaven...
Empowerment is so important. All people, especially women need to have enough of an ego to not have to bend spoons for anyone, ever. "Not Yet" is so much worse than that. Thank you for vilifying the injustice of feeling imprisoned in a relationship, Lyn. Despair and suicide are often the only way out, a tragic end. Scarlet A says it all. This is a brilliant piece.
Hi Linda-
It's a good thing we have long memories..a good thing for a writer who lives in the here and now...thank you!
One of your finest, Lyn!!
Hi Helen-
Such a nice thing to say! Thank you so much...
Awfully well done, Lyn. Good writing.
Hi Berowne-
Great comment...wow! Always thanks...crawling around on ailing comp., can't get "there"!!
I have no idea what this is about, but I will definitely enjoy reading it many times to try and find out.
Love it. Graceful.

Hi dori-
It's about bending over backwards, maybe, but not really sure myself...thank you!
Very nice take on the prompt!
Hi Harvee-
Welcome, and thank you!
This felt really cryptic, Lyn, like wandering around a crypt, perhaps with a Minotaur somewhere around. But the owner has style, and there are some bright colors adorning the place, thanks , mate.
Hi Kutamun-
It's cryptic for me too..can't always figure myself out...thanks for the insight, mate!
Well, whatever it's about, the poem fits the picture well. Dark and mysterious...
Enigmatic and wonderful...
Hi ~T~
Thanks for your kind attention!!I like ...mysterious!
Hi Tess-
I so love that pic..endless inspiration...thank you!
Your poetry bends spoons for me Lyn!
Hi Carrie-
