MAGPIE...Prompt #133
SUMMER NIGHT/ 1913/ Albert Bloch
THANK YOU, Tess, for Magpie Tales....
BLUE MOON
Come closer, this
is the place of chance,
where once in a blue moon,
you can stumble past betrayal,
and call out a spell,
"belew, belew",
ancient chant,
duplicity, be gone.
Clouds of indgo ash,
a sky dimmed by stain.
Stay by my side, gaze,
see light tossed anew,
hope for the sun to rise
in seventh heaven.

Hi Brian-
Belew/belewe...archaic spelling ...1500's, for blue. Trivia!! Thanks so much.
oh the blue moon!!! love your indigo poem. :)
Am I belew? Ain't these tears in these eyes tellin' you? :-)
Hi insanebloom-
You are so welcome..thank you!!
Hi Berowne-
Leave it to yew!! Thanks a bunch!!
Belew! I love this. I actually had blue moon on the mind last night when I chose this pic. Very nice, Lyn.
Really lovely and so in sync with the images. I especially like the idea of the sky dimmed by stain.
Hi Tess-
Went to a Blue Moon gathering Fri. night..a bit of hocus-pocus..and then your pic. Hmmm.
True believer!!
Hi junkthief-
I was very much on the wavelength of this image..a real gift..thank you so much!
I thought blue moon, too. I like the chant-like dance.
Ooooh, loved it. "belew, belew" made me shiver.
Hi Laurie-
I thought the Blue Moon theme was magical! Thanks so much...
Hi Ritva-
Glad it had that effect! Thank you...
I could actually "hear" these figures saying that word "belew", and sense the flirtatious coaxing to stay with them forever!
Blue in the night and heaven's touch with the sunrise. Rightly so, Lyn!
Hank

JJRod'z
Hi Rick-

Hi Hank-

Hi JJRod'z-
Always loved those golden oldies! Thank you...
Lovely, Ms. Lyn! "Blue Moon" is going to be playing in my head all day!!
Your words paint a lovely scene to behold!
Besides the ethereal qualities of the painting, you picked up on the archaic feeling of the figures and I love that you channeled your words through the mystic nuances of ancient
times. Our 'blue moon' uneasiness is definitely connected to the spiritual naivety of the people who lived during middle ages. Awesome Lyn! Thank you for sharing.
magical indeed...thanks for this Lyn
Ah your Blue Moon is vey different to mine. I like the way you've chosen the old chant and made us think of medieval mystery mingled with the indigo ash of a different bue moon.
I like this cncept of a spiritual " last chance saloon" , where the colour blue reigns and hope springs eternal, thanks Lyn !
Hi Helen-
Know what you mean...me too!! Thank you...
Hi Karen S.-

Hi Linda-
There seem to be so many spiritual connections in this one..and the middle ages...a treasure trove! thank you!
