A GIRL NAMED SPRING


Thank you, Mommy
for naming me Spring,

for buds budding,
grass growing,
sparrows soaring,
baskets of blooms
brimming over,
tulips nodding
their swaying heads.

Easter bunnies
hiding rainbow eggs,
a Lamb saving us all.

And for giving me a name
that everyone will remember,
at least once a year.

Thank you Mommy,
and here
are some sunny buds,
bursting into flower,
just for you.
