OBJECT TO BE DESTROYED/ Man Ray
THANK YOU, Tess, for Magpie Tales....
TRY
Great saints, even Joan and Polycarp,
having doubt at the final bind to the tree,
reach through the burn for the brass ring.
What if heaven's eye opens to darkness,
time is a click, nothing more,
and a name engraved on a stone
is all there is? Born and died,
a box of days, laid in the earth.
Martyrs sway with their last breath,
hearing a requiem
as they approach the endless blaze,
sputter like twigs,
try to take wing,
find their soul,
grab hold of the savior's hem.

Find their soul, grab hold of the saviour's hem - I believe that they do.
Well crafted and a most interesting take on the prompt.
Oh my goodness, a perfect describing of such a piece as this weeks' offering. Which now I'm at a loss! I like to sense my own thoughts before diving into other posts! Once I realized it was your Mag post I couldn't stop reading. Most inspiring, thanks.
...a box of days!! And the last lines are lovely.
Hi ReBelle-
I believe it too!! So glad you enjoyed this..thank you!
Hi Karen S.
I too never read any until I'm done with mine..I just like to sort of "receive" the words..thanks!

Hi Tess-
So kind of you..that pic was amazing..thanks.
Oh Lyn this is great. I just love S2 especially, but the whole thing is outstanding!
I loved this quizzical look at the end of days, Lyn. The efforts by few for a grasp at life.... to hold on. Remarkable vision. Thank you for sharing.

A measure of demise cleverly narrated. Nicely Lyn!

Hi Carrie-
You are most kind..thanks so much!
Great take on the prompt! You are so right - it would be sad if we were just ticking away days, nothing more!
Hi Robyn-
I share your point of view! thanks..
Love this: time is a click.
Wow , Lyn ,this is truly inspired , and i think your right, it wont be good for us if heavens eye opens and finds only darkness, as we could well end up a derelict vampire planet , floating endlessly through time and space on some long forgotten frequency of manifestation, like countless others that failed to make the jump, until there is othing left. Cheery fellow arent i ?. I always enjoy your work
a box of days, laid in the earth...wow...love the way you put that...is that all there is...is there more...we may one day find out...smiles...really tight little piece you put together...
Hi Laurie-
Now that we've got that solved!!Thanks so much...
Hi Kutamun-
Always appreciate your insight..thanks!
Hi Brian-
I'm trying to remember a novella/short story, by Milan Kundera, about a very abstract journey of a soul..It always felt "right" to me...What's the name..still "seeing" it! Thanks, Brian, as always..
