MAGPIE...Prompt #187

THE MOTH and the LAMP/ Cesar Santos

THANK YOU, Tess, at Magpie Tales...

CONSUMED

It's the first singe
that wounds,
an illicit touch,

the pretense
that I will endure
past the ecstatic gasp,
beyond nature's bribe.

Obsessed,
spent again.

I keep forgetting
the game,
as if breath
can be heaved in,

exhaled
in rapture forever.

I stay
to be consumed.

Wow, that about says it all, and more brilliantly than I'd ever heard before. Phew. Make you want to wake up from the dream that keeps us driven towards the flame.

Beautiful writing!

But when I click on your link left on my comments I got to your site.

Hi Kathe W.-
Thanks! Someone else has mentioned this strange thing to me...and I have no idea what it is, because I don't see it....how weird! Anyone know what to do?

When I click the link on the Magpie site for your entry your entry comes up. Have I just been unlucky? Can't find the God Botherer site anyhow.

Lyn - does this help? Your link at 16 in the Magpie list takes the reader to ellerochelle.blogspot.COM - whereas you actually are hiding out at ellerochelle,blogspot.CO.UK.
(That'll be £20 please, no cheques!!)

Hi Jerry-

Lyn said...
