MAGPIE/ Prompt #83

THE SNAKE CHARMER/  Henri Rousseau. 1907

WHAT A CHARMING Painting...Magpie/ Prompt #83, thanks for the inspiration, Tess!

THE EDEN CHRONICLES

No shadow under you,
no mirror image of your outline,
red eyes Morse code a warning
that seems an enticement,
an enticement that seems a warning.

Prickles on my neck
as you slither by
to the purr of the clarion.

Belly scraping rock bottom,
barnacles, scum,
a piquant soup.

The sinister hand stirs, beckons,
a whisper hisses in passing...
"She's to blame,
herewith in mud forever"...

Oh man, this one really hits ya on the second read. Yep, blame the female, again, she's the downfall of the universe. Another beauty, Ms. Poetess!

I gave it the good old college try ... choosing which stanza was my favorite. No contest, they were all great!

smiles. we all look for someone to blame...to take responsibility from our hands for our choices...whetherit be the opposite gender or a hapless snakewho happens to be slithering by...

Hi Brian-
It's fun to blame myth, to share the world with snakes..It's necessary not to let the snakes have all the fun though...thank you, always...
