MY DAY...
THIS IS AN ERASURE POEM. I got the idea from Poets and Writers Magazine. Take a page or two out of a magazine or newspaper, underline words or phrases that appeal to you. They say to erase, white-out the rest, but for me underlining did just fine. Construct a poem with the chosen words. This leads me to believe that writing is a lot easier today than it was yesterday.
MY DAY
Cold water pouring down my throat,
drink, with the sun coming up,
before despair tries to become the daily habit,
cross my legs, brush aside the dream,
still almost clear.
Look at the clock,
an easy ritual for morning,
catch myself in a laugh,
was there something funny in the dream?
Mother, you served me some bread,
didn't know that was
a beacon,
I'll take the crumbs and butter
into my day,
till I lie down,
sometimes sleep again,
before the clock wakes me
to observe.

MAGPIE/ Prompt #41
photo/willow/Magpie Tales
STANDARD TIME
They direct us, every year,
to turn it back,
the clock,
back,
backwards,
to close down the year mechanically.
I want to grasp
on to one more hour,
make it stay,
stand there, don't move,
something I've tried to do
when I'm overly-
enthusiastic,
or a little crazy.
Find a lifeline to what's gone,
but have to settle instead
to winding the stem in reverse
so that the sun is confused
about when to shine,
but time bounces on
with uncertainty
to engulf us with darkness.
If I dream of what an hour
looks like,
I see a gazelle
leaping through the air.
I will tether it to my bed,
not let it go till springtime,
when I peer into the heart
of its intent,
and watch the flight
of an hour leaping ahead.

Faithfully, I await the Magpie Prompts, am never disappointed to follow Willow's muse..once again..Thanks!! And one and all...please read the other entries...

All Over Again....
DEJA' VU
That was just a bit of deja' vu
swimming by,
a split second of flotsam
and jetsam
that grabbed my energy
in a
beam me up moment.
Disappeared so quickly,
left me holding the line,
trying to hook that lost instant
before it turned into a dead fish
once more...
and then what?
If I stop the clock
at that take,
would I,could I,
play it any differently,
or
be left to wait for the black hole
to regurgitate again,
serve up another enigma,
leaving me to my eternal confusion?

The Clock Tower
THERE'S A TRIPLEX PENTHOUSE APARTMENT AVAILABLE IN A CLOCK TOWER overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and New York Harbor. It's available for $25,000,000. The price is more than double the amount previously paid for a Brooklyn home. x
The main floor is dominated by four working clocks housed in 14 foot high windows, which provide unobstructed views out to four points of the compass, on top of one of the tallest buildings in Dumbo, a cobblestone neighborhood that went through renewal in the 1980's.
The clocks are synchronized to show exactly the same time.

A glass-walled elevator and 3 story floating staircase lead to the top of the tower.
There are 3 bedrooms on the 2300 square foot second floor.x

One wonders who will buy this "home". Someone who's probably not too affected by the current economic downturn. A major star? Sports? Rock? An oil king? As they say, if you got it, flaunt it. Well, it's not me. Not only because it's sort of out of my league,(ha), but I get vertigo just looking at the photos. Or it could be rented out for a remake of "The Big Clock".
