POINT of VIEW
HERE'S A POEM unprompted..decided to get off my big fat dependency on other's prompts and stand on my own two stilettos. And finally admit that this is the first true thing I've ever written...up till now just been in the grip of the dullest life..shamefully overcompensated by telling little white lies. Will be trying "the truth", from now on. Maybe.
POINT OF VIEW
My eyes were looking for dawn
as sleep tugged them to stay shut,
but push I must to awaken
to such an itch in my left eye.
No, more like a scratch,
so what could have jumped into this orb
during a dream, to cause a discomfort like this?
But force I did the debut of the day,
still full of black ink streaking the sky
and that fierce discomfort becoming
the fullest part of the morning
as I slog to get to the bathroom.
And here's my day staring with a focus unasked for,
the mirror presents a blur with no common sense solutions,
so that plans of finally accomplishing greatness,
a creative mind triumphant,
my footprint planted on the "Walk of Stars",
will not be solved today.
All actually obliterated, taken to the back
of my prehistoric mind and dropped there,
so that I may focus on the physical complaint
of an itch which overtakes all previous intentions.
I look for a cool splash of water
to sail away whatever speck has lodged
in a deep pocket of this sphere,
which spent the night in sweet repose.
My day is shaped by action unplanned
to give a name to a newborn pest
that's come to rest in my point of view.

Merry...merry...
TABLEAU
I like that I have to bend down
on my knees
to see Christmas
in a ten inch tableau.
In my white garden
beside the frozen pond,
a soundless manger
is filled with straw,
and curious figures huddle
in from the snow.
Eyes stay fixed
upon a radiant babe,
passing a secret to his mother.
A wishing star
spins across the sky,
leading kings
to slip past their kingdoms,
because a rumor told them
to come sing
a song
whose words
come from within.
Wishing the best to all my friends...Merry Christmas...Happy Holidays...May your days be blessed!

ORIGAMI...Poetry Potluck #13
I welcome the opportunity to write a poem for Poetry Potluck #13 at Jingle Poetry. This week we are offered the subject of Dreams, Visions, and Reveries. Somehow, for me, they all melt into one....
ORIGAMI
I am paper in the dream,
white and flat,
hoping for some fancy calligraphy
to be inscribed
as I hold my breath.
I'm ready for some
ornamental letters
to dance across my face
till I am sated,
by a saintly hand
or Shakespeare.
Instead, origami folds me
into a bird.
A bright spark
points me
towards a hole in the sky,
whispers the message:
Wrap your wings
around your soul.
Ascend.
Dedicated to the memory of Sri Daya Mata/ Self-Realization Fellowship.

NatPoMo...
Does poetry enrich your life? Do you write poetry? Do you buy poetry? Do you plead with friends and family to please listen while you read your latest tome? Well, guess what??
HERE IT IS AGAIN, NatPoMo...and everyone is celebrating its arrival.
Hardly any serious Blogger has failed to mention that this special day, first celebrated and established by the Academy of American Poets, way back in 1996, is the beginning of NATIONAL POETRY MONTH. Not the first to kick it off, I still feel that I can add a twist, so let me be the first to get you ready for April 30th, which is, "Poem in your Pocket Day". This is not an April Fool's Day joke. If you don't have a pocket, clutch it or pin it to your sleeve..just like your Mom pinned your mitten when you were a kid.
Here's a poem that I wrote a while ago, it's in my book of poetry, "Two Ghosts".
MEDITATION
I am made empty between two skies,
the outer infinity of luminous blue.
The ebon firmament within.
I become full
when the universe
twirls its net of quantum jewels
and spins a net of all ourselves.
