I WANT TO MEET YOU/ Poetry Potluck #21

                                                 Gustav Klimt

Welcome to Poetry Potluck #21This week we are asked for our Aims, Goals, and Ambitions.  The name of my poem is about a goal, and I chose to write it in the form of a Pantoum.  Hope you will also check out all the other super entries!

I WANT TO MEET YOU

I want to meet you,
now, not someday.
Your touch, like a thin piece of silk
pressing against my face.

Now, not someday..
I can do mischief too.
Pressing against my face,
it felt like a kiss.

I can do mischief too.
I dwell in my mind,
it felt like a kiss.
Who did you last embrace?

I dwell in my mind.
Reminisce with me,
who did you last embrace?
Just a ghost in the fog of dawn?

Reminisce with me.
Your touch, like a thin piece of silk,
just a ghost in the fog of dawn?
I want to meet you.

  1. Beautiful pantoum...seems an appropriate form for the theme. I love the painting "The Kiss"--perfect illustration.

  2. Very enjoyable. I was also shocked because I, too, wrote a French Pantoum. You used the form very well to create tension.

Thanks so much..for an explanation of Pantoum you can check out "Roses Once More/A Pantoum", on my Jan.site, 1/28/11..or, it's a poetic form, the roots of which are Malaysian, starting in the 15th Cent. I really like it!! Hooked!!

Lovely words, thank you so much!If you want to write a Pantoum(I don't know what a French Pantoum is!!!) you might want to turn to "Roses Once More", Jan. 28, 2011.. where you will find some instructions that might help.
