TRACING PICASSO/ Poetry Potluck #44

                                                                      Pablo Picasso

THIS IS ART WEEK...at Poetry Potluck #44, Painting Whispers....

TRACING PICASSO
I don't want his psyche to slip away
as I grasp for the quintessence.
I place translucent paper
on top of the Picasso,
fit the edges to meet and cling.

I mean to let his genius
float through the lucid instant,
as artistic salvation
transfuses his brilliance
into my hand.

I trace the dissonant face
with my slender crayon,
eyes in profile like isosceles triangles.

A trick of the light,
round orbs,
a nose thrust aside,
seeming akin to a beached flounder.

A cheerless outcome for a paramour,
unexpectedly looking like a fish.

  2. I don't think that you missed the essence of the painter...
'I don't want his psyche to slip away
as I grasp for the quintessence.'
Loved it from the first line.... and then on to the ending which was like the real painting whispers... of your inner voice... I liked it a lot..
Thanks for sharing... and painting your whispers...
