INFINITE POWERS/ Poetry Potluck #43

THIS IS FREE VERSE WEEK, free choice!  For Poetry Potluck #43.

INFINITE POWERS

Sometimes I want a particular God,
like the one outlined
on that wrap in Turin,

A tall tale they say,
no matter how many angels
peer in
through a stained glass window,
singing hallelujah.

Some other days
I'm patient enough,
dressed in my saffron robe,
to sit in a pose,
prayer flags
fluttering beside me,

to clear my mind
of earthly woes
and fit alongside Buddha,
where tears are just
an ego trip,
and life is an illusion.
