SINGIN' and DANCIN'/ Poetry Potluck #38



FOR THIS WEEK, Poetry Potluck #38, we are asked to be, "Inspired by a song'.  How nice!

SINGIN' and DANCIN'

My umbrella unfurls,
as a raindrop
grows rapidly into a puddle.

I race to the edge,
plunge right in,
tapping to a Cinemascope melody
that rises to the top
in Technicolor bubbles.

That skip always plunks
Gene Kelly by my side.

My dream, his movie.
I've got the heel
and toe routine
in my heart.
I'm the shadow on his arm,

splish-splashing,
sharing startime,
singin' and dancin'

blissfully,
in the rain.
