A BIT of K 165
The Mezzo's voice
fills the recitative
and beckons us to plunge
into Mozart's
Little Concerto.
Exultate!
Jubilate!
A motet,
now sung by sopranos,
was composed
for the illustrious
Rauzini,
The extravagant
Castrato.

ReplyDeleteHi Boom Boom...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit, and the comment!!
Is that really what it is? Koechelverzeichnis no. 165.
ReplyDeleteEven the professional musicians in this house couldn't tell.
Chapeau!
I take it that is an expression used in your circles? No offence, the asking is probably stupid.
I wish you'd follow me because I like your blog enough to want to follow you. But i have this problem with reciprocity. Can't jump over my shadow.
ReplyDeleteEven so, I really will have to come and visit more often. There are some real gems here.
Hi Friko-
ReplyDeleteIt is the #165..
And I really don't know anything about my circle..I'm puzzled!!What is chapeau? No offence taken, but ..what???
Now...You jump first, I'll follow...haha..trust me!! Thank you...
love it,
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of Mozart and Bach and more...
your words are musical, empowering, and employable...
Hi Jingle-
ReplyDeleteThank you...endless love for Mozart and Bach!!
Very enjoyable indeed but give me Ludwig Van Beethoven anyday.
ReplyDeleteYour musical knowledge certainly exceeds mine! Thanks for sharing your Magpie.
ReplyDeleteI love poems that, on one level, are just giving out information, all matter of fact, and leave the rest to the reader. It's intelligent on your part, to treat the reader like he's smart (whether he actually is, is beside the point).
ReplyDeleteThe bit about Rauzzini is exquisite.
Hi Windsmoke-
ReplyDeleteThanks for your point of view...a food fight between Beethoven and Mozart?..bring it on!!
Hi Sioux-
ReplyDeleteLove sharing..thanks..and I do love trivia!!
Hi Andreas-
ReplyDeleteSo kind with your comments..always looking to be understood!
Yes, those castrati..what a resume'...!!
BBC radio 3 has just spent the first 12 days of January playing every note Mozart wrote! So many wonderful works from one man.
ReplyDeleteExtravagant castrato .... Rauzzini fit the image to perfection!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Derrick-
ReplyDeleteNot too much for me! If not Mozart, who?? Well, Bach, and.....Thanks for dropping by!!
Hi Helen-
ReplyDeleteSort of like that fellow! Love the background of history...thanks for your comment.
Music and words, as intoxicating as wine. What grace, warmth and beauty they add to our world.
ReplyDeleteHi Deedee-
ReplyDeleteWhat a gracious statement..I certainly agree with insight!
An excellent write. I must admit that I am don't know very much about classical music so I had to do some internet research and have just listen to #165 and sorted out the references you have written into this piece. I am impressed.
ReplyDeleteI also enjoyed listening to #165.
Hi Marilyn-
ReplyDeleteI'm really impressed at the amount of work you did! I too love researching, and it's so much easier now..Thanks!
Delight dance across the pages of time, touching upon the crescendos of music itself.
ReplyDeleteHi Reflections-
ReplyDeleteI like the way you expressed this..thank you
Lyn
ReplyDeleteSuperb -- or rather Bravo!Your words always charm and delight. love the classics - one of my favorite is "Ode to Joy" did a piece on Beethoven some months back. What was the poem you were referring to I would love to read it? I did manage to do a magpie this week, music intrigues me.
joanny
Hi joanny-
ReplyDeleteIt's a pleasure reading your kind words..I was refering to a poem, K-165/Proof, in a book I published a couple of years ago..."Two Ghosts"!!!!
You must be good in this art or truly musically inclined!! I'm quite deaf where music is concerned :D but I do see a fine poem!!
ReplyDeleteHi Nanka-
ReplyDeleteI think when I love something I really pursue it..no special musical talent..thanks for your comment!
your words do move and flow, quick and easy in the loveliest way!
ReplyDeleteHi girldaydreaming-
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely compliment...
I think, when Friko said 'Chapeau' it was probably her way of taking her hat off to you, in recognition of your poem!
ReplyDeleteHi Jinksy-
ReplyDeleteThank you so much..I received an email explaining the idiomatic use of chapeau! Now I know...
Wonderful writing!
ReplyDeleteLove this!
Margie :)
