Waking up is worthy of note.
Seeing rococo hands
pointing to six twenty five,
even in the darkness
of Eastern Standard,
makes me wonder
x
how my body knows
to open my eyes
at the same time each morning,
x
when my deliberate mind
finds it tricky to keep
a planned rendezvous.
